ABOUT ME
I'm really passionate about both cycling and being with people - so being a cycle coach is a natural fit for me as a man who has lived and rode in the glorious Eastern Bay of Plenty for more almost 20 years.
I know the streets, the dirt tracks and hidden trails of this area, like the back of my hand and I'm always excited to introduce people to my favourite routes.
I also love to share my knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm which has motivated me to gain qualifications in MTB and Cycle Skills Instruction with a solid aim of making safe, enjoyable cycling accessible to everyone.
“Climb your hills, cross your streams and forge your memories, all in your days' bike ride!”

MTB AND cycle coaching
+ GUIDED rides
ready to ride
Lessons for new and returner bicycle and E-bike riders. We will cover fitting a helmet, checking your bike, and setting it up to ride. We then move onto the basic skills required to ensure you ride comfortably and with confidence both off and on the road.
TRACK Ready
Gain the confidence of learning the skills and knowledge required to ride off-road, on dirt and gravel tracks and trails which require a slightly higher degree of technical skills.
Guided Rides
Join me on the many trails and tracks around the Bay of Plenty which I know like the back of his hand. Explore Whakatane, Ohope, Onepu, and further afield. You can also ask me to join you on a track you’ve always wanted to explore.
mountain bIKE lESSONS
Lessons available for both new and experienced mountain bike riders that wish to improve their riding style and experiences.
"Pedal It Forward"
This is my version of "Pay it forward". Join me for a free ride at NO cost. Just take it upon yourself to encourage and support someone else to ride. Nice and simple! Just follow me on Facebook to hear about my free rides!
Simple Price Structure
If you're a beginner or returner rider, chances are I can provide you with a lesson at no cost as I receive funding support from Cycle New Zealand and the Eastern Bay Road Safety Programme to support people to get riding safely and confidently. Check-in with me if this is the case.
If not, sessions are $150 for a 2 - 3 hour session for all Whakatane-based lessons and sessions. Sessions times vary depending on rider ability and fitness levels and are generally for up to 4 riders, so the larger your group, the less cost per person.
A surcharge can be negotiated for sessions outside of town to cover my time and travel costs.
